Phase Leader/Class Teacher

Job details: Permanent. Full-time. 27.5 hours per week. Grade: M1 - UPS3.

Start date: 1st September 2026.

John Perryn Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated and ambitious teacher with a strong track record of successfully leading a curriculum area to take on the role of Phase Leader on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will:

  • Consistently deliver high-quality teaching that meets the needs of all learners
  • Lead by example to support, challenge and motivate colleagues and pupils
  • Have a strong understanding of effective curriculum design and sequencing to secure excellent outcomes
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of audiences (verbally, in writing and using ICT)
  • Successfully lead and develop a team to achieve agreed priorities
  • Use assessment and data intelligently to evaluate pupil progress and plan targeted actions for improvement
  • Works collaboratively as part of the wider leadership team, contributing to whole-school improvement
  • Champion inclusion and ensures that disadvantaged pupils, those with SEND and those new to English achieve well.
