About The School:
Ealing Primary Centre is a successful Pupil Referral Unit for primary aged children with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. We provide part time education for dually registered children, who attend the rest of the week at their mainstream school, and full time education for children who have been permanently excluded or placed here. We aim for our pupils to become confident in understanding their needs and in using strategies to manage them.
About The Role:
We are seeking an outstanding class teacher to join Ealing Primary Centre and lead a small SEMH class, initially in Key Stage 1. You will deliver a highly adaptive, relational curriculum for children who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion. Applicants should have strong and recent experience in mainstream or specialist settings, and we particularly welcome teachers with KS1 or EYFS backgrounds.
About You:
You will have good, recent experience of working as a teacher in a mainstream or special provision. We particularly welcome applications from teachers with Key Stage 1 and EYFS experience.
The successful candidate will work in Ealing Primary Centre and support pupils with a range of needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Difficulties. They will:
• Be genuinely committed to working with primary aged pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and to helping them to successfully engage with learning.
• Have proven experience of successful positive behaviour management skills, using a relational approach, particularly with regard to children with additional needs.
• Be flexible, highly motivated and creative with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Be ready to work in an established multi- disciplinary team with a range of professionals.
The post holder may also on occasion be required to provide advice and interventions to schools, for referred children with SEMH needs, that support them to raise children’s educational attainment, remove barriers to learning and reduce their risk of exclusion from mainstream school.
What We Can Offer:
We can offer the right candidates the opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team of skilled, committed and highly motivated individuals.
On-going training and induction packages are planned to ensure high quality work with pupils and schools.
We are committed to safer recruitment, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
